Retail-focused Everest Development details new mixed-use project in McKinney

Work began last week on a new mixed-use development in McKinney called Florence.

Architecturally inspired by the Mediterranean, the 18-acre development near the corner of Custer Road and Custer Trail is expected to have about 200 apartments and between 40,000 and 50,000 square feet of commercial space fronting Custer Road.

A mix of office, retail and restaurant space was originally imagined, but plans could change based on demand, said Raj Gogineni, promoter of Everest Development, the company behind the project. NAI Robert Lynn is leasing the commercial space.

The apartments have already broken ground and will include amenities like a gym, pool, conference rooms, walking trails and a dog park. Designed by Humphreys & Partners Architects, the project is being built by Novel Builders. It is expected to deliver by March 2022…
