Local developer targets high-income renters in latest addition to San Antonio’s red-hot Loop 1604 corrido

11/01/22

Homegrown real estate concern Casey Development is prepping for construction on a new project dubbed Tacara at Steubing Heights, a multifamily complex that represents the property developer’s fifth bet on the greater San Antonio area.

The new development is the latest addition to the explosive growth around the Loop 1604 corridor; located at 12807 JV Bacon Parkway, the project will be sandwiched between West Hausman Road and De Zavala Road just east of I-10. The company expects to break ground in February and to have construction finished by April 2025, according to plans filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The project is Casey’s fifth multifamily development in the San Antonio area and will include a five-story primary building and a four-story secondary building. The company has owned the land since 2017; a purchase price was not disclosed, but a deed of trust shows a loan from $2.8 million originating from San Antonio-based BHA Financial LP.
