As a member of the Business Development team, Nicole is one of the initial points of contact for clients seeking superior design, and cultivates client satisfaction throughout the life of a project—from drawing board to groundbreaking. Whether it is a multifamily or student housing deal, Nicole’s talent for guiding a project to success is an excellent example of Humphreys dedication to client satisfaction.
Let’s get to know Nicole outside (and inside) the office and see what makes her a true icon of #HumphreysHeroes culture.
- Where is your hometown?
Claremont California, it’s a small quaint college town. There was nothing to do there growing up but now I see that it is actually a great place to raise a family.
- What is your Alma Mater?
Cal Poly Pomona. One thing that most people don’t know about me is that I actually got my bachelor’s degree in Biology. I was Pre-med for a while, but once I started the Chemistry series I decided it wasn’t for me.
- What is the best book you have read recently?
I have a 17-month old baby boy (Preston) so right now I am reading “Toddler 411” and it has helped so much with parenting. It has great tips and explanations regarding child development.
- If you were not working for HPA, what would you be doing?
Working for a nonprofit organization. I have always found so much joy in volunteering and I can see myself doing that full-time in another life.
- What are your hobbies when you are off duty?
Right now, I enjoy introducing my son to new activities. We go to the beach together a lot. I can’t wait to take him snowboarding next season. I love watching him experience life.
- If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
I really want to go back to Europe to visit Belgrade, Serbia. That is where my dad was born and raised, and I would love to see the places where he grew up.
- What is your favorite HPA project?
I am really proud to have been part of the Compass Rose project. We recently went to the grand opening and there was a single mom there with her daughter. She told me how she had driven by Compass Rose while it was under construction and she immediately signed up to be on the wait-list. With rent rates constantly increasing in California, she had previously been evicted from several other apartments. Thankfully, once Compass Rose completed construction, there was space for her and her daughter. Now they have a place to call home.
