As the leading multifamily innovator and architecture firm in North America, we rely on our incredible team of designers to do more than create communities around the world for clients– they champion projects through to completion. As Project Manager in our Dallas office, Andre Warren is responsible for the successful planning, execution and closure of HPA projects assigned to his team. Andre has managed many groundbreaking HPA projects across the country all the while building successful relationships with clients, city officials and contractors.

Let’s get to know Andre outside (and inside) the office and see what makes him a true icon of #HumphreysHeroes culture:

  1. What is the first impressive structure you saw as a child and thought “I would like to create something like that?”

It was landscape architecture that first encouraged me to pursue design. My hometown is Tyler, Texas, “The Rose Capital of America,” and the city has these long residential streets with beautiful homes lined with rose and azalea bushes. Seeing that as a kid peaked my interest in creating something beautiful one day.

  1. Which aspect of architecture inspires you and your work at HPA?

Creating something out of nothing drives my work. Taking a blank canvas and building a structure that is innovative and highly functional is a fantastic process from the drawing boards to construction.

  1. What inspires you outside of the office?

My beautiful wife Teresa and two kids, AJ and Thomas. They are nine years old and six years old. I have been coaching AJ’s flag football team the past few years. The first practice of the season is this week!

  1. What is your Alma Mater?

The University of Texas at Austin – go Longhorns! Fun fact: I walked onto the UT football team as a freshman.

  1. It may go without asking, but since you attended UT is Austin your favorite city in the USA?

No question, Austin is my favorite city. Second place would be Chicago – the architectural diversity in the Windy City is an architect’s dream. And the art museums in Chicago are incredible. My favorite is The Art Institute.

  1. If you were not doing architecture, what would you be doing?

Anything with math – I love numbers, so I would probably be working in business financing.

We hope you have enjoyed getting to know Andre, one of our world-class team members here at HPA! Stay tuned for more #HumphreysHeroes blog posts in the future. In the meantime, engage with us on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram for all things HPA-related.
