Our awesome Project Manager Will Quintanilla has been with us since March 2012 and is an integral part of our Dallas office. We’re proud to have him on the team so that's why we decided to ask him a few questions.

Why did you become an architect?
I decided in the 7th grade that I wanted to be an architect. I worked every summer with my uncle, who owned a construction company. Loved reading the plans, not so much working in 100 degree temperature.

Where did you go to school? What was your major?
I received a Masters of Architecture from Texas Tech University (Wreck em!). Graduated in 2002.

Any special talents you have or something you think people would find interesting?
Not sure how interesting this is, but I can say all 50 states in alphabetical order… In under 30 seconds.

What has been your favorite project at HPA?
The first project that I worked on at HPA was a student housing project called Northpoint Crossing in College Station. Even though it was for a bunch of Aggies, it was real fun to work on. The magnitude of the project was insane (almost 2,000 beds, 60,000 square feet of retail and three 8-tier parking garages). Also, I got to see the implosion of the 17 story tower that was on the current site. It was also my first time doing Type III construction.

Do you have a favorite quote?
“It comes down to finding something you love to do and then just trying to be great at it.” – Mark Cuban

What is one thing on your bucket list?
I really want to travel to Italy. I studied about the architecture while in school and would really like to see it in person, especially Vatican City.

Thank you for all of your dedication and hard work, Will!
