As the #1-ranked multifamily architecture firm in North America, Humphreys & Partners relies on our incredible team from around the world to create innovative, one-of-a-kind communities. Jessica Leak, a Business Developer in Humphreys’ Dallas office, is one of the driving forces behind our client-focused culture. As a member of the Business Development team, Jessica is one of the initial points of contact for clients seeking superior design, and cultivates client satisfaction throughout the life of a project—from drawing board to groundbreaking. Whether it is a multifamily or student housing deal, Jessica’s talent for guiding a project to success is an excellent example of Humphreys’ dedication to client satisfaction.

Let’s get to know Jessica outside (and inside) the office and see what makes her a true icon of #HumphreysHeroes culture:

  1. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

That’s a tough question. I’m an avid traveler, and it’s always tough to decide between trying somewhere new or going back to somewhere I love. So, it’s a toss-up between Paris or the Maldives. I’ve been to Paris, but the white sandy beaches of the Maldives are pretty tempting.

  1. What do you enjoy most about being a Business Developer at Humphreys?

I enjoy taking care of others, and in my role I have the privilege of working closely with clients and ensuring they have everything they need to make their developments a success. I also enjoy the tenacity the role requires. There’s always a challenge to overcome, a new lead or a project to go after!

  1. Do you enjoy working closely with clients?

It may sound cliché, but I love meeting new people and making them feel welcome. I enjoy hosting dinners and taking care of my friends, so I extend that mentality to work. As a Business Developer, I meet new faces all the time and immediately begin solving their challenges and making sure their time with us is smooth and beneficial. I find it fulfilling to help our clients’ visions come alive.

  1. What’s your favorite project that you have worked on so far?

We are about to break ground on a massive student high-rise in Reno, Nevada with one of our new clients, GMH Capital Partners. Greg and I have been meeting with them for the last two years, so it’s exciting to see the project and relationship take shape.

  1. What’s your alma mater?

Louisiana State University—Geaux Tigers! I’m a huge LSU football fan. I try to make it to as many games as possible. Since I have moved to Dallas I can’t make them as often as I’d like, but I did make it to last year’s incredible Georgia vs. LSU game, where we rushed the field after winning 36 to 16!

  1. Have you seen a good movie recently you would recommend?

I just saw the movie The Upside, and it was so good. The perfect combination of funny and endearing. And I love that it was based on a true story.

  1. What is your hometown?

Baton Rouge, LA.

  1. If you were not as Business Developer, what would you be doing?

Growing up I always thought I would be an artist, and explored the idea of becoming an interior designer, but realized I enjoyed decorating my own space – not doing it for others! So I really enjoy that I’ve found a way into a creative world where I can apply my personal skill set.
