Mark Humphreys is a long-time supporter of Architectural Education. “The future is in urban architecture,” Humphreys explains, “students need to have access the latest technologies, research and design methods, so that they can bring this knowledge into their future firms.” In an effort to promote architectural education, Mark Humphreys has donated over $8,000 in 2016 to scholarships nationwide. Beneficiary schools have included: Texas A&M University, Auburn University, University of Illinois at Champaign, Louisiana State University, Tulane University and the University of Colorado at Denver. Mr. Humphreys has also established a 10-year donation plan with the University of Texas at Austin.

The future is in urban architecture, students need to have access the latest technologies, research and design methods, so that they can bring this knowledge into their future firms.

In 2015, Mr. Humphreys contributed $1.5 million to the Texas Tech University College of Architecture, establishing the Mark E. Humphreys AIA Chair in Urban Design to permanently support a faculty position and that individual’s research.
